Kjerringsveiven - hiking trail for Women

This is a very popular hiking trail for women. Every year 2000 women gather in Rjukan, for this popular event. The trail goes along Gaustatoppen at Rjukan in Telemark. This is a social and no time taking arrangement for all girls over 12 years old.

The trail is 9km, in varied mountain terrain. The highest altitude is 1260 meters above sea level. On the way you will pass viewpoints where you can look straight down to Rjukan.

The finishing line is at Selstali, an old mountain farm which still keeps their traditions. Here you can buy some traditional Norwegian food, and just enjoy the good mood.

In the centre of Rjukan, there is a market square where arts and crafts are sold. At night there are concerts and good night life.  The whole town is ready for welcoming the women and gives them an unforgettable experience.
