Day 1: Cross-country skiing along Tinnløypa

Tinnløypa is a 29 km long cross- country track from Gvepseborg to Atrå . Start off with Krossobanen cable car, which brings you and your skis to the starting point of the Gvepseborg. All the way you see Gaustatoppen in various poses.

See www.tinnbillag.no for buses from Atrå and back to Rjukan.

Day 2: Snowshoeing

Snowshoeing is a growing trend, and at Kvitåvatn Skihire you can either rent snowshoes for private tours or join a guided tour .

The new and modern snowshoes are very easy to wear, and is therefore an activity for most people. You have 100 % control both upwards and downwards.

Snowshoing is a perfect way to experience the mountains, you have plenty of time to enjoy the scenery. With a guided tour, you can also learn more about techniques and how snowshoes is healthy, while providing information about places you go.

Day 3 : Norwegian Industrial Workers Museum

The Norwegian Industrial Workers Museum at Rjukan get a close encounter with Norwegian industry - and war history. Here's a glimpse of Rjukan 's energy adventure and how Sam Eyde developed Rjukan from a farming community into a bustling industrial community .

The museum is best known for its presentation of Rjukan war history. Rjukan was the scene of one of the most important acts of sabotage during the 2 World War, when Norwegian saboteurs prevented the Germans from developing nuclear weapons of heavy water that was produced here.

Fjellbussen is a free shuttle service from Rjukan to Gaustablikk. 5 times a day. The bus makes it easy for you to travel between the the city and the mountain, so that you can experience the sights and activities here.
